De Groomer wonders: Competitions? Price hikes?

December 22, 2008

I wonder whether there is still geniune people out there willing to share and learn from each other. I know everything is “competition”. To my dismay, I came across an advert in 88db.com extremely “disturbing”, the advertiser basically puts down Professional Groomers and Home Groomers, through their advertisement it clearly states, we are clumped up together like a ball of hay left to sun in an open field. De Groomer selects a Dog Shampoo… (Part 1)

September 10, 2008

There are just too many brands and types of shampoo in the pet market. Spoilt for choice? Perhaps…

What worries Pet owners is selecting a suitable type of shampoo for their dog’s skin and coat. Just like our human hair, shampoos are custom made to suit the individual needs just like for the different types of coat and skin.

The aim is in providing him a shampoo for his needs since there is no such thing as the best shampoo option there. It is always a good idea to read the ingredients list. Look for one with organic or natural ingredients used to deodorises and clean your dog. You may be interested in reading this article on “The function of ingredients found in dog shampoos”.

De Groomer speaks: Feed the Doggies Campaign

August 22, 2008

Want to give it another shot? I believe this is just one of the many Dog Campaigns to raise awareness of dog lovers and non-dog lovers that there are still Dogs out there that require Love, Protection and Monetary aid. We can’t just depend on our anti-animal cruelty bodies, such as SPCA to do all that is needed.

I strongly feel that it is a really good idea for Pet shops to pool in their funds to help the doggies. Come give your earnest support to FeedtheDoggies.com. No more excuses, when you can start doing your part now!

De Groomer dishes out: Behind closed doors (Part III)

August 5, 2008

Most owners are absolutely shocked with the way their dogs react during grooming, that is because they do not carry out consistent grooming routines at home and do not understand that grooming has to be consistent. When did you last pick up a brush and brush your dog?

De Groomer shares: Dealing with Difficult owners (I)

August 3, 2008

In the dog grooming industry, Groomers bound to run across that particular difficult client who really tests our people skills and professionalism. It may be someone who calls at the last minute and gets highly annoyed that you can’t accommodate her. It may be someone who feels the need to haggle your prices with you over the phone before placing an appointment. What about a person who accuses you of been negligent or harming their precious dogs under your care?
